Built For Multi-Value

The Viságe Designer has been built from the ground up to really understand the multi-value data model and is the fastest, most intuitive way to rapidly develop robust business applications with a Graphical User Interface (GUI).

The Designer has been developed with the PICK / BASIC programmer in mind and also those familiar with the dictionary-based model of multi-value database systems.   Concepts such as multi-values with controlling and dependent attributes are maintained within Viságe and are in fact extended beyond the level normally available in a standard database system.

Thin-Client Technology

Viságe utilizes thin-client technology freely available in the form of Microsoft's Internet Explorer (Version 6.0 or later).   Viságe leverages many of the extensions built into this browser taking the GUI application beyond the functionality and efficiency of standard browsers.   For instance, Viságe only redraws the necessary fields on the screen as changes are made, whereas standard browser-based applications require the full screen (or frame) to be redrawn.

Using Internet Explorer means that messy deployment and client-upgrade issues can be a thing of the past.   It also means your applications are just as easily deployed over the internet as they are over your intranet.

Other Framework Features

Viságe automatically handles many of the persistence-type issues over a non-persistent connection, freeing the developer from this type of housekeeping.   These features include:

• Record locking
• Detection of closed or aborted sessions
• Session tracking
